| At 2 weeks old, we almost lost our little Levi. He lost all but 3 cm of his small bowel due to a volvulus that was secondary to malrotation of the intestine. Basically, his intestine twisted on the main blood supply and it caused his bowel to die. He was put on TPN and lipids for all his nutritional needs and we were informed that he would need a small bowel transplant to survive. At 4 months old, he was finally listed for a small bowel, liver and pancreas. After waiting 8 long months, Levi received his gift of life on March 7th, 2008. It is such a blessing to have such a miraculous boy in our lives. |
